Ok, so I keep forgetting about this blog-- sorry!

Camp is Monday! Yay! I'm glad that everyone who is going is going and sad that everyone who isn't going isn't going. I think camp is going to be lots of fun... swimming, horse back riding, shooting range, ropes course, me-- heh.

Amazing Race

Our version of the Amazing Race is finally here! I've been working hard all week to get everything ready... it's gonna be a lot of fun! So come this Sunday to play! Bring a lunch and we'll eat right after the 11am service is over. Then we'll split up into teams and be off!! Be the first to figure out all the clues and complete the challenges to get the prize!

Car Wash

Since they are still giving us a 60% chance of rain (including heavy thunderstorms), we are canceling the car wash for today. Hopefully you've already heard from either me or Daniel. We still have another car wash scheduled for May 8th.

Amazing Race: April 26

We'll break out into teams and race from deteur to deteur. The first church who figures out all the deteurs and clues gets a cool prize. Bring a friend!

Fundraisers: Car wash 4/18 & 5/23

They are both at the Texas First Bank in Santa Fe. Everyone who wants to come out and help raise money for camp is welcome!

We're also asking people to collect cans that we can cash in. Bring them up to the church in May, please!

Also always, come on Wednesday as we continue our Bible Study through John. We'll also figure out what we're going to build for Sunday's play.

Announcements for 3/29/09

I know, I know. Late again. I have no excuses. I just forgot.

Camp is still June 8-12 in Lindale, Texas. I scheduled the two car washes-- April 18th and May 9th. They are both at the First Texas Bank in Santa Fe and are from 12pm-3ish. Anyone can participate and the money will be split between everyone who helps out and goes to camp. We're also collecting soda cans. Get your friends to save theirs, too!!

The SFBC Amazing Race is April 26th after the Sunday morning service. Bring your lunch! And yourself. And a friend.

We're going to have lots of stuff planned for this summer. Let me know if there's anything in particular you want to do. So far we have movie nights, bowling, go carts and swimming.

Open House

The Open House on Sunday was great! I was too busy to take any pics... I think Amanda got some. I'll have to get them from her. Thanks to everyone who helped!!

Spring Break!

Over Spring Break we had a game day... we played mostly spoons, but the boys also played some basketball. Here's Michael showing off: Ooops!! Hehehehe.Aren't they cute??

We're going to plan summer events like this one... maybe some swimming, bowling, go carts. Stay tuned for details!

Announcements for 3/22/09

Ok, so I'm late again. Sorry!!

We have the Amazing Race on April 26 right after the 11am worship service. Bring a lunch with a drink... we'll eat real quick and then get started with the game! Ya'll will be split up into teams and then head off with a driver. You must complete road blocks and detours while figuring out clues to get you from destination to destination. It'll be fun!! This year's camp theme is City of Heroes. The dates are June 8-12. We're doing a couple of car washes and collecting cans to raise money for camp... we'll also discuss a couple of other fun raisers this Wednesday.

We'll also be getting ready to teach on Sunday tomorrow night. We have some painting to do. And we'll do our Interactive Bible study. Fun stuff!! Hope to see ya'll tomorrow night. If you need a ride call me or Daniel M.

Announcements for 3/15/09

OK, so I'm late for this week's announcements. Sorry. I'm busy.

First, camp is coming up-- June 8-12. It'll be fun so plan to come.

Second, we're planning for our next Sunday to teach children's church. The topic is prayer. It's also the Sunday that we're planning open house so come and help out! We'll be constructing a mural and doing a play with the kids. We'll also be singing some songs for open house (the kids will be singing, of course... we're just helping them sing).

Lastly, tomorrow we're having an off-the-cuff game day (thanks, Bobby!!). It's at 2pm. Bring supper and yourself. I think we might play spoons all afternoon... fun stuff. If you're in school, come whenever you get out of school. And as ALWAYS call if you need a ride!!!

Children's Church

It was our turn yesterday to teach children's church. We made a mural with the kids and then acted out the Wedding at Cana. Daniel played Jesus (HUGE stretch there!) I was Mary and we had 3 brides, a groom and a servant! We also did a lot of singing to get ready for Easter. Thanks to everyone who helped! Make sure to come next Sunday as we plan to teach Prayer to the kids.

Announcements for 3/8/09

Camp is coming up! The theme is City of Heroes and the dates are June 8-12, 2009. Stay tuned for info on fund raisers.

Our next Youth Event is April 26, 2009 after the Sunday Services. The theme is Amazing Race. Once again, ya'll will each need to bring your own lunch, but snacks and drinks will be provided.

We'll be getting back into the book of John this Wednesday night. We'll also have ice cream. You really can't beat that... ice cream and John! Hope to see everyone then. If you need a ride call me or Daniel.

The Wedding at Cana

It's our Sunday to teach the kids. The topic: The Wedding at Cana. This is where Jesus turned water into wine. We're going to make a huge mural with the kids during the first segment. We'll also be bowling with the kids and teaching them the songs for Easter. Come this Sunday at 10:00am to help out!
